The Reception Committee is made up of at least six members, with two elected each year to serve three year terms. An individual may serve no more than six consecutive years.
Responsibilities:
1. Board elects Chair annually.
2. To provide two persons to greet the congregation before worship in the sanctuary each Sunday.
3. To arrange for two coffee hour hosts each Sunday.
4. Each committee member is responsible for securing greeters and coffee hour hosts for two months each year. Months are usually chosen at the organizational meeting each February.
• Recruiting may be done in person, with a sign-up sheet at coffee hour, or by telephone.
• Recruiting should be done early enough before the assigned month to provide names to the church secretary for publication in the church newsletter and Sunday bulletins.
• Available post cards should be sent to those who have volunteered by Tuesday of the week preceding the time they will greet or host.
• Names of volunteers should be noted in the logbook provided.
5. Monitor Coffee Hour supplies and notify Church Secretary which additional supplies are needed.
