YAKs, which is short of Youth Action Koinonia (Koinonia is Greek, meaning community) is for our 6^th, 7^th and 8^th graders. They meet on Sunday evenings (see activities calendar) for fun and community service. A high point on the calendar every year falls the weekend before Thanksgiving when the group gathers in the church kitchen to bake bread and prepare other goodies which they include in decorative baskets they distribute to church members who are not able to come to services. Ice skating, a holiday party, a spring retreat and an annual Rock-a-Thon all help to build community in this group and to help them be an active part of our church community.
