Thursday Night
Thursday evening worship is a new and developing part of our church life. The forty-five minute services have a meditative tone and provide an opportunity for worshipers to stop mid-week and refocus and renew their spirits. Music, scripture, prayer, and an interactive time all add to the feeling that God is indeed present in this place. Bugbee Chapel provides a beautiful setting for the worship service.
Our Labyrinths Print E-mail

A Labyrinth is an ancient spiritual tool that has been used by Christians through the ages to develop a closer experience with God.  Unlike a maze, a labyrinth has no dead ends or cul de sacs, but is a circuitous pathway from the outside to the center.  Walking the labyrinth one meditates and prays, focusing not only on what one wants to say to God, but also in listening for what God has to say.

Both of the Somers Congregational Church labyrinths are twelve circuits and based on the design of the nave labyrinth in the Chartes Cathedral in France.  The outdoor labyrinth is located in the northeast corner of the parking lot, behind the planters, and is available for walking at any time.  Several times a year we have introduction to the labyrinth sessions and guided walks.  Our other labyrinth is painted on canvas and is set up in the Foundation Room for walking at various times through the year.
