Technology Committee
|
The Technology Committee is responsible for the oversight and support of the Church’s computing and communication environment. The computing environment includes PC’s, network and software, including Church management software and other associated equipment. The communication environment includes telephone services, internet connectivity, audio visual services, including portable equipment and permanently installed equipment, website administration, e-mail and other associated services.
The committee meets monthly and as needed to deal with regular business and technical support. The regular business of the committee includes evaluating requests submitted by others, discussing and planning for long term projects and issues, creating and modifying policies to ensure Church systems are secure and used for appropriate purposes, and other issues as needed. The technical support provides hardware, software and network solutions as needed and in a preventative maintenance role. Support is provided by both committee members and outside vendors depending on the issue.
Members of the committee included a chair who is responsible for the coordination of all activities, a secretary who is responsible for committee minutes and documentation, and a treasurer who is responsible for managing the committee’s budget. In addition to these positions, others may be created as needed to support specific systems or coordinate projects.
