Board of Music and Arts

The Board of Music and Arts is made up of at least six members, with two elected each year to serve three year terms. An individual may serve no more than six consecutive years.


Responsibilities:

1. Monthly Meetings or as needed

2. Board elects Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer annually.

3. Develop Budget proposal for the coming year to be submitted to the Finance Board by November 1.

4. Responsible for hiring/firing an organist/choir director, and keeping contract current.

5. Perform an annual performance review of organist/choir director and make salary recommendations for the coming year as appropriate.

6. Secure guest organist/choir director during vacation and other times when the need arises.

7. Maintain organ, pianos and keyboard, as well as other musical instruments, which belong to the church.

8. Provide refreshments for musicians between services on Easter and at other special times as appropriate.

9. Maintain choir robes in satisfactory condition.

10. Encourage growth in the music program.

11. Maintain works of art owned by the church.

12. Encourage the use of performing and fine arts in worship and at other appropriate times in the life of the church.

13. Encourage individual church members to be artistically involved in faith.

14. Submit an Annual Report of the Board's activities for review at the annual meeting each year.

15. Administer the Robbins Fund to provide soloist for special church occasions and services.
