Board of House and Grounds

The Board of House and Grounds shall consist of not fewer than six (6) members elected by the Church at the Annual Meeting for staggered three (3) year terms. Members may not serve on this Board for more than six (6) consecutive years.


Responsibilities:

1. It shall be responsible for the supervision and maintenance of all Church owned buildings and grounds, except musical instruments, including contracting of services when necessary and managing the work done to Church properties by Church employees, volunteers and contractors.

2. It shall present annually to the Board of Finance a three (3) year plan identifying major real property work, including associated estimated costs that will be required.

3. It shall recommend policies to the Church Council for use and authorized use of all Church real properties, except for the Sanctuary.

4. It shall, with the advice of the Pastor, recommend to the Church Council the employment of a sexton or contracted cleaning service.

5. For any custodian(s), sexton(s) and/or contracted cleaning services employed by the Church, it shall assure an accurate job description, annual performance evaluation and appropriate compensation recommendation for inclusion in the annual budget.

6. It shall present a detailed report for the year to the Church at each Annual Meeting.
